It all starts with the collection of demolition waste. The centuries-old Pecky Cypress that once functioned as a domestic roof is meticulously cleaned and stabilized, breathing new life into the material legacy. Identified by its beguiling dark pockets, this material is not only an echo of the past but a testament to nature's artistry.
The clay is then sculpted with integrated joinery to link with the Pecky Cypress. Once fired, the wood is hand-carved to perfectly match the contours of the clay and slot into the provided joinery.
The small side table is a harmonious blend of sustainability, heritage preservation, and craftsmanship, an eloquent beacon showcasing the interplay of history and modernity.
