This project combines a periscope and bird feeder, creating a playful and educational installation that allows users to observe birds from a distance without disturbing their natural behavior. Designed for public spaces like parks, community gardens, and playgrounds, it fosters a connection between urban communities and wildlife while addressing "species loneliness" by promoting appreciation and respect for local ecosystems. Constructed from powder-coated aluminum for durability, the installation is easy to maintain, requiring periodic refilling and cleaning by park staff. Expert interviews with naturalists, designers, and educators, alongside user feedback gathered from prototype testing in local parks, informed the design, ensuring it meets functional and engagement goals. By minimizing moving parts and simplifying maintenance, the project ensures long-term usability, while its integration of fun and environmental education encourages public awareness and responsibility toward nature.
