Pininfarina x VISO: A Childhood Dream

A Childhood Dream is an immersive sculptural lighting installation that redefines the intersection of light, art, and design. A collaboration between Pininfarina, a globally renowned Italian design firm, and VISO Inc., an industry leader in architectural lighting, this project transforms childhood wonder into a tangible and illuminating experience.
Inspired by the ethereal beauty of clouds, the installation features four floating, illuminated sculptures of varying sizes, meticulously crafted from polished stainless steel. The integration of advanced DMX lighting control enables dynamic, interactive illumination, creating a surreal play of light, reflection, and depth. The sculptures appear weightless, suspended mid-air, evoking a dreamlike atmosphere where technology and craftsmanship seamlessly merge.
Beyond lighting, the installation offers a multi-sensory experience. A custom soundscape and accompanying cinematic visuals, created by French filmmaker Gwenael Lewis, enhance the immersive nature of the design, drawing visitors into a world of imagination and nostalgia. To complete the experience, Pininfarina designed sculptural seating inspired by organic rock formations, encouraging visitors to engage with the installation from a place of comfort and contemplation.
This project highlights the transformative power of lighting, where function meets artistry.
