The Manguezal Bar Stool emerges from the sculpted purity of a cylinder, anchored by robust legs with organic joints that evoke the quiet strength of exposed roots. Its swivel seat adds functionality, while its sculptural presence grounds the design in a deep sense of place.

Inspired by the mangrove — where aerial roots hold more importance than the canopy — the piece places emphasis on its base. The legs take center stage, with bold, totem-like forms that echo the anthropophagic furniture traditions of Indigenous Brazilian cultures. Its raw, almost primal design embraces a brutalist aesthetic, connecting ancestral memory with contemporary expression.

Offered in two versions — with or without a backrest — the bar stool also pays homage to Lina Bo Bardi, subtly referencing her iconic Girafa Stool. More than a seat, Manguezal is a sculptural statement — of identity, roots, and the enduring power of form.
