New L&MR MECHANICAL watch collection is crafted as a modern interpretation of the Art Deco style and inspired by the era of the Industrial Revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries. The collection is based on the historical event of 1830 — the opening of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in the UK.

HVILINA designers preserved the distinctive industrial spirit while infusing it with the refined aesthetics of Art Deco: bold lines, guilloché patterns, subtle halftones paired with contrasting dial details and decorative screws. A key feature of the collection is the special Hvilina-winder for the Miyota 9029 premium automatic movement.

The dial is compositionally divided into two zones: the outer one, adorned with guilloché, and the inner one, with minimalist markers. Both parts are united by a minute track in the form of a stylized “railway.” Roman numerals alternate with decorative applied screws, creating a composition reminiscent of an actual rail fastening system.

Adding to the concept is a small plaque reading “Beware of the trains”, echoing the style of historical British railway signs from the 19th–20th centuries. The mark at the 27-minute position symbolizes the speed of the first trains on the Liverpool-Manchester route — 27 km/h. The final touch is a set of Art Deco-inspired hands that perfectly complement the overall concept.

The watch case is made of stainless steel, the glass is sapphire, and the strap is genuine leather. The collection features four mechanical models, each named after a type of train that once ran on this railway: Rocket, Northum (from Northumbrian), Planet, and Lion. On the rotor of each model’s movement, there is an engraving of the corresponding train along with the date of the railway’s opening.
