Pagani, a historic Italian pasta company founded in the 1920s and based near Milan, has built its legacy on producing long shelf-life tortellini and ravioli through a traditional low-temperature drying process without preservatives. In 2024, the brand was officially recognized as a “Historic Brand of National Interest” by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
For this project, the agency created a memorable B2B gift for Pagani’s key buyers and long-standing partners — not simply a corporate present, but a meaningful expression of identity.
The creative strategy centered on storytelling packaging. Inspiration came from the company’s origins and from a passage in Gianfranco Pagani’s book (Made of a Different Dough), recalling the moment tortellini became the heart of production and were distributed across Italy in small vans, making the brand instantly recognizable.
The result is a vintage-inspired collector’s box dominated by the iconic light blue of Pagani’s 1960s packaging. At its center stands an illustrated Fiat 850 T van — a symbol of entrepreneurial vision and nationwide expansion. The box features a distinctive front-opening mechanism that reveals a narrative interior with two compartments.
Inside, recipients find Pagani’s signature tortellini in heritage-style packaging, complete with a die-cut window shaped like the chef’s hat from the company logo. Alongside it, an unexpected delight: custom-made tortellini-shaped chocolates, created in collaboration with renowned Italian chocolatier Majani.
This surprising pairing transforms memory into multisensory experience. Though not conceived as a commercial launch, the box strengthened relationships, sparked enthusiastic feedback, and reinforced brand positioning across stakeholders. It demonstrates how packaging can move beyond function to become narrative, emotional connector, and strategic branding tool.
More than a gift, it is a tribute to Italian heritage, innovation, and four generations of vision — proof that design can carry history forward.
