Asymmetry Cup

In the journey through numerous coffee competitions, our quest for the perfect flavor descriptions led us to experiment with various cup designs using the same coffee. It became evident that the different rim shapes of the cups yielded distinct nuances in coffee flavor.

As early as 2019, we conceptualized a tasting cup capable of offering two unique flavor experiences. We aimed to create a cup with versatile functionality and ease of use. After searching for abundant traditional glass craftsmen in Taiwan and overcoming the challenges of presenting two rims in glass, the first version of the "Asymmetry cup" was finally launched in 2022. Making its debut at the 2023 World Brewers Cup (WBrC), the "Asymmetry Cup" became the cup used by Shih Ru Wang, the founder of Just Go Coffee, in the competition, achieving the highest score in the preliminary round.

Additionally, its ability to deliver an astonishingly intense aroma and flavor experience that resonated like a passionate duet on the palate applied to coffee, wine and tea as well. This achievement earned praise from competitors and experts worldwide. It was also voted one of the Top 5 Winners in the Sprudge Design Awards Vessels category that year.

In terms of appearance, this tasting cup features two different sides of rim angles: an open mouth and a narrow mouth. The open mouth allows the liquid to first contact the sides of your tongue, enhancing the liveliness of acidity. On the other hand, the narrow mouth allows the liquid to pass through your tongue entirely, providing a longer-lasting sensation. You may also notice that the upward-narrow and downward-open shape of the cup can better fit your nose, allowing you to perceive the aroma more effectively.

Regarding the cup's internal design, you will find internal ripples that can activate the aroma and flavor when you swirl the cup. Therefore, it's recommended to swirl the cup every time before you take a sip.
