At 9 West 57th Street, one of Midtown Manhattan's most recognizable office towers, Soloviev Group built an approximately 11,000-square-foot Fitness and Wellness Center as part of the building's amenity floor renovation. Its locker rooms called for a cove lighting system precise enough to trace the millwork locker banks in both the men's and women's rooms without a visible break in the light. Kelvix specified its Eclipx Series, a 120–277V articulating cove fixture, for the job.
Built from 1-foot and 4-foot fixture sections butted end-to-end, Eclipx runs continuously above the lockers in two custom-configured runs of roughly 47 linear feet each, turning three 90° corners apiece to follow the room's built geometry exactly rather than approximate it, for close to 100 linear feet of uninterrupted cove lighting in total. The fixture's integral on-board driver meant no remote power supplies were needed for this run, simplifying an installation that had to be completed on an expedited two-week onsite timeline.
Specified at 3000K to match the color temperature of cove lighting already installed above adjacent lockers, Eclipx delivers 690 lumens per foot at 90+ CRI, rendering the locker room's finishes accurately under flicker-free 0–10V dimming down to 5%. The result reads as a single, continuous band of light wrapping the locker room rather than a series of individual fixtures, a detail few people using the space will consciously register, and that’s exactly the point.
It's the kind of adaptive, ambient light more often reserved for a lounge or a restaurant, applied instead to a locker room, so that even the most utilitarian square footage on the amenity floor reads as considered rather than left over. IP20-rated, listed to UL 1598 and CSA C22.2 No. 250.0, and backed by a 3-year warranty, the installation was reviewed and approved for fabrication by the project's lighting designer in July 2026, ahead of the space's fall completion.
