Over 28 billion pounds of plastic packaging is created every year in the U.S, yet less than 9% is actually recycled. Household cleaners and home care products, like hand soap, are huge contributors to the plastic waste problem. Specifically, more than 577 million plastic soap bottles enter the environment each year. To help combat this, Grove Co. is committed to innovating new and exciting ways to reduce the average consumer’s plastic consumption. This year, the brand introduced new hand soap sheets. The new product provides customers a compact, convenient and eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic bottle hand soaps. Enough for 40 different washes, these pre-cut, pre-measured soap sheets quickly dissolve using minimal water and come in 100% biodegradable paper packaging. Additionally, they have a lower water and carbon footprint than traditional single-use plastic bottle hand soaps. The sheets are made from 100% natural fragrances and are free from parabens, phthalates, phosphates, or optical brighteners. The packaging is small enough to toss in a bag or purse, making this a more sustainable alternative to plastic-bottled hand sanitizer when on-the-go.
