The Tie-Dye Revival project tackles a critical challenge in cultural preservation through innovative mobile APP design. It seeks to revitalize the traditional tie-dye technique practiced by the Bai minority groups in Southwest China. This vibrant art form, a tangible expression of cultural heritage, faces a significant threat due to a scarcity of skilled artisans and limited financial resources.

Tie-Dye Revival takes a groundbreaking approach, launching a user-friendly mobile application that bridges the gap between age-old craftsmanship and modern consumer needs. This app empowers a wider audience to participate in this art form through accessible customization options and playful dye process visualization game, fostering cultural preservation in a novel and engaging way. The project's success speaks for itself. By its first year, it had already generated over $165,000 in revenue for local communities, tripling the average income of participating artisans. This economic empowerment not only ensures the continuity of the art form but also fosters a sense of ownership within the communities. By making tie-dye accessible and engaging, the Tie-Dye Revival project goes beyond innovative app design. It establishes a sustainable business model that contributes significantly to both cultural preservation and the economic well-being of rural communities.
